With Pinpeta Gina
March 14 - 20, 2027
Yoga/Adventure retreat and nature escape:
This is MORE than just a yoga retreat! It is an exploration of the local culture, activities, and adventures in the area.
The retreat takes place at Gardenia Springs Resort in Buritaca, in a quiet, rural part of coastal Colombia in the beautiful region of Sierra Nevada de Colombia, where the stunning contrast of lush mountains meeting the Caribbean coast. Colombia, being the world’s 2nd most biodiverse country, offers a beautiful backdrop, and is a must-see for travelers!
On this all inclusive retreat there will be a variety of activities and day trips including a hike to a cacao farm, a peaceful walk to a waterfall, a trip to Tayrona National Park (with incredible Caribbean beaches in a large national park), river tubing, and a tropical garden tour with food and local fruit tastings! The package includes three meals a day prepared by local chefs using healthy, locally sourced ingredients, transportation, all the activities, daily yoga and meditation and of course, your lodging at Gardenia Springs Resort.
Our teacher, Pinpeta, is a seasoned yoga teacher and former pilates teacher and offers a variety of yoga for beginners as well as seasoned yogis. She has studied Vinyasa, Pilates, Hatha, and concentrates on making her classes both physically challenging and calming at the same time.
Finally, you will be with a small, intimate group (8-10 participants) and I will be participating with you the entire time. My team and I will pick you up from the airport and drop you off at the end and be there to answer any questions you may have along the way.
Connect deeply with the local community as we visit neighborhood partners to sample fresh tropical fruits, small-batch chocolate, and authentic Colombian coffee. Far from tourist-crowded hubs, this hidden gem offers pure tranquility surrounded by lush, untouched nature a peaceful sanctuary where you can truly slow down, recharge, and reconnect.
This retreat, set in the breathtaking mountains of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, where lush peaks meet the Caribbean Sea, this experience unfolds in one of the most unique landscapes on earth. You will see an incredible example of this contrast when we go to Tayrona Park, which is one of my favorite beaches in the world.
Colombia, the world’s second most biodiverse country, offers an extraordinary backdrop of vibrant ecosystems, wildlife, and unforgettable scenery. If you love nature, you will love it here!
From the moment you arrive, everything is taken care of. We will greet you at the airport and support you throughout your stay. This ensures you feel comfortable, safe, and fully at ease.
Our warm, attentive team creates an environment where you’re welcomed not just as a guest, but as part of the family.
Yoga: Each morning
From our teacher, Pinpeta:
“With a passion for mindful movement and holistic wellness, I am so excited to create a welcoming space for students of all levels to explore the balance between strength and serenity. Rooted in Vinyasa, Hatha, and Yin, mat Pilates, and reformer Pilates my teaching focus is on breath, alignment, pelvic floor breathing, and self-awareness. I strive to help students cultivate both inner peace and physical vitality. I can’t wait to move and breathe with you!”
Beyond the daily yoga practice, the retreat includes a wide variety of group experiences and fun activities.
Daily Activities: Each activity is designed to immerse you in both the culture and the natural beauty of the region.
Day 1: Tropical Garden/Experience: Tour the biodiversity of Project Nido eco-lodge and sample fruits and herbs from the gardens. Learn about the history of the plants, medicinal properties, and the process of regenerative agriculture.
Day 2: La Selvita (Chocolate making workshop/ cacao farm tour):
We will drive a short distance from the resort and arrive at the foothills of the mountain. There we will take a short hike to a finca, a local farm with more than 30 types of local fruits with a large variety of cacao. The specialty at La Selvita is their finished product, the GAIA chocolate bar.
“The Sierra Nevada region is home to some of the best cacao in the world. We use a homemade chocolate process to create the most delicious and authentic Colombian chocolate you will ever taste.” Here in La Selvita, they are “committed to promoting the unique flavours and traditions of Colombian cacao, whilst also contributing to the sustainable development of the region.”
Day 3: Tayrona National Park: Here we will travel about 30 minutes to get to the park entrance. We will be hiking to a few of the country’s most scenic beaches. You will have the option of hiking or riding over the trails on horseback!
Day 4: Short waterfall hike: This is an easy, relaxing day. You can join us to hike to the waterfall, or simply relax at the resort or by the pool. The waterfall is about a 45 minute walk on an easy trail. Bring your bathing suit and take a swim in the clear water at the bottom.
Day 5: River Tubing: This will be a relaxing float down the river as one large group. We have seen monkeys, tropical birds, and other wildlife on the river banks. AND we have a very fun cultural stop at a local hangout spot along the way. 🙂
The Hotel: Gardenia Springs is located in the small town of Buritaca. It is outside of any city and tucked away in a nature. This is a “boutique eco-resort nestled right where the tranquil Buritaca River meets the sea.”
Positioned as a luxury-meets-nature retreat, this property blends rustic coastal charm with high-end, premium comforts.
Here we will be offering a special menu for our guests prepared for our small group by a local chef and guests will be able to discuss any preferences and dietary alternatives. We are very proud to offer delicious vegetarian options and a variety of dishes to choose from. Healthy foods never tasted so good!
Having lived in five countries across the Americas, I can honestly say the Colombian coast holds a special place in my heart. This area is laid-back, peaceful, and surrounded by real nature. It is my personal favorite for its energy, beauty, and authenticity.
If you’re curious to learn more, feel free to schedule a time to connect with me via video or write me a message. I’d love to share why this place is so unforgettable.
Thanks!
